Time

There never seems to be enough time in the day, week, month … you get the idea. I have found that time is something that you need more of, but cannot seem to get. The irony is that time really does not change there are still 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, 24 hours in a day, 30 days in a month, 12 months in a year.

It is all a matter of what we do with the time. We always want more time to sleep because if you are like me, I seem to be more tired as of late then before. Perhaps that is a sign that I need a vacation. I have found that the daily routine or for those who know it as the “daily grind”, well is just normal and how things are.

You get up in the morning, take a shower, get ready for work then go to work, work all day, come home and then try to spend some time on a project that you have been meaning to do, but are tired and end up not doing anything on it telling yourself that you will get to it later perhaps on the weekend. Then you start getting hungry and dinner is moving up in the list of things to do because you need food. Then your brain hurts from working all day and being tired, you end up eating dinner watching some television show or movie so you do not have to think and suddenly you see that it is late and you cannot keep you eyes open and call it a day. You are off to sleep and do it all over again. Perhaps tomorrow you will add some variety and

It is not a bad thing or a good thing it just is. To break out of the grind take work. You have to work at it to other things. It just does not happen; you have to make it happen. The “how to” is different for all of us and there are many books written on the subject so I will not pretend to tell you what the secret is because I do not have one nor know what it is.

Time is like money, you have to be wise with your money and so you have to be wise with your time. I have discovered that if you spend more time getting a good night sleep, you will have more time that you can spend to do other things. That “recovered” time. Just like the saying goes, “Spend money to make money” sometime you have to spend time to get time back because you can do things that you want to do rather than be tired and not do those things.

I spent 15 minutes and 34 seconds of time to write this rant.
